Hybrid Ryegrass

Tetraploid Hybrid Ryegrasses excel in establishment speed, nutritional value and Winter growth. Derived from crossing perennial and Italian ryegrass cultivars, hybrids generally have higher annual yields and will persist for 2-4+ years depending on the percentage of their parentage, management, climate and insect pressure. Hybrids with high Italian ryegrass parentage have higher short term yields and better feed quality while hybrids with a strong perennial ryegrass parentage tend to have greater persistence. Hybrids are an excellent choice for over-sowing into existing pastures to boost productivity and feed value.
